God changed His mind and prayer works!
Is it true? Does God change His mind? The scriptures say that God never changes, but that is referring to his nature and character. There are several examples throughout scripture where God changes his mind when someone asks him to.
It appears in this passage that God did change his mind. King Hezekiah was told to put his affairs in order because he was about to die. But Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, “Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” God listened to his prayer and granted Hezekiah’s request by adding 15 years to his life. Hezekiah asked for a confirmation of God’s healing power and God moved the sun dial back 10 degrees. Stating his case before God paid off!!
Lord, I am thankful that you answer prayer and that you are willing to move heaven and earth on my behalf. I cry out to you today for healing and for those things that are distressing me. I know with a calm assurance that you will hear my cry and answer my prayer.
