But our High Priest has been given a ministry that is far superior to the ministry of those who serve under the old laws, for he is the one who guarantees for us a better covenant with God, based on better promises.

Hebrews 8:6

This chapter encourages me on two points.  First, it is helpful to be reminded how Jesus builds His church- through the pitching of the true tabernacle in each man's heart.  Second, I like seeing the character of God in how He replaces old ways that are good with new ways that are better.  I think these are two things that hold true as I look at our church.  The power of the gospel is still actively extending the Kingdom, and we're continually moving beyond the good ways to the better ways.

Thank you, Lord, for our High Priest, Jesus, and the awesome covenant we have with God the Father because of His sacrifice on the cross!

Really good observation, Adam. That's why church and church services can't stay the same. God is constantly moving us forward, rearranging things toward His end goal, which usually means that we move out of our comfort zones. And it's "the power of the gospel...that actively extends the Kingdom"!
