Today's Reading:  Is. 1-3; Tit. 3

“And let our own learn to apply themselves to good deeds, so that they may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives.” (Titus 3:14, Amplified)

Over the years, diligence is a word I’ve had to embrace to see positive changes in my life, and to accomplish the goals I’ve set for myself. As a Christian, I’ve also learned that I must be diligent to use what God has given me. Living a spiritual life of idleness won’t produce the fruit that accompanies a fulfilled life in Christ. Spiritual fruit comes by moving out of neutral, and being diligent to cultivate and apply myself to the purpose God has called me to.

My life in Christ is nothing that I ever want to sit back and take for granted, ending up with nothing to show for the life He has given me. His gift to me deserves my very best response to the great love He has for me. Perhaps my greatest response is to use my life as an opportunity to influence and impact others for Him. In doing so, I become a contributor to the greatest cause imaginable.

Lord, let the cry of my heart not be “what can I get”, but “what can I give” towards the cause of Christ!
