I like the way the New Living Translation simplifies it….
15 This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all. 16 But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.
Prayer - God, help me to be a continuous witness of your amazing love and mercy to those who are being influenced by me living my life “out loud” for you!
I love how Paul uses himself in this portion of scripture, I Timothy 1:15-16, in order for us to understand the amazing love and tremendous purpose that God has for every one of us. Even in our weaknesses, in our pride, in our stubborn hard-headedness to do things our way, we learn that His love is overwhelming and His patience is never ending towards us, not just for our sakes but for those who desperately need Him. Imagine, even though we sometimes feel as though we are going through the ringer with God, it’s through these times that people can see God at work in our lives and realize that they can believe in Him, trust Him and invite Him into their hearts as well!

So true

This is so true, Pastor. In our hardest experience that lasted 7 years, friends and acquaintances told us later that they had watched us, and that the way we dealt with it (totally with God's grace and help!) inspired and motivated them to trust God more. To Him be all the glory!
